Citation: "Has successfully completed the numerous missions that he was entrusted with, notably: 1. in the night of 9 - 10 April, he lead the first patrol across the Imjin River 3 kilometres into the enemy lines, 2. on 23 April he went on a recon mission against the enemy troops that had cut our supply line and successfully lead the extrication of C-company from the lines, 3. he took over command of C-company when its C.O. was wounded and commanded it with calmness and determination during the battles between 23 and 25 April 1951" (Sources: Faire-part de décès; Hendrik"s Medal Corner; The War Memorial of Korea)
